This Week's Little Bits

Hello again! Sorry it's been so long since I've wrote but I've been a teensy bit busy... I'm a lot more involved in school this year than I was last year. Anyways! So here's some interesting stuff that has happened in the last couple of weeks:

1. Two birthday parties: my mom's and my friends. Happy birthday to both! :D

2. Lots of homework! The one thing I don't enjoy about school. Hmm... well that's not really that interesting. Hey why did this make the list!? I OBJECT! haha.

3. An obsession over Beyonce's new song Sweet Dreams and Glee music. PS: don't forget to watch the video at the bottom from the last Glee episode. It's so funny! List I said- OBSESSED!

4. A new haircut...not sure if I like the way it looks

5. Staying after school practically everyday but Friday. I draw the line at Friday! I need to keep some sanity intact.

Well that's all I can think of right now! What about you? Anything interesting happening this week? I love hearing your responses! :)

Here's the video from the last Glee episode (it's a little slow at first but later on it gets funny...)and if you want to hear Beyonce's new song then copy and paste this link! Have a wonderful week everybody!

Don't Stop Believin'

Here are some of the little joys I found on the internet this week! If you want to see where I found any of the clothing/accessories then just click on the photo. :D

Doesn't she have a gorgeous voice? This song is from Les Misérables

I love this jacket.. I'd probably never get to wear it though. It's never really cold in South Texas-maybe like one day out of the year. But still you gotta admit! It's pretty cute!

Another Glee song! The songs they pick are just amazing...

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Super Mom + Birthday + Poem

Super Mom

"Mom, you're a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you show you care,
always make me feel I belong.
You're patient when I'm foolish;
You give guidance when I ask;
It seems you can do most anything;
You're the master of every task.
You're a dependable source of comfort;
You're my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.
I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You'd be the one I'd select!"

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Eek! Don't do it Archie!

I'm so upset right now! For any of you Archie comic readers out there, you probably know exactly how I feel! Ugh.. supposedly Archie finally chose between Betty and Veronica.. and he picked..VERONICA! How can this be?! I feel like my "favorite love song was written about a sandwich" (27 dresses). Goodness gracious he could have at least chosen Betty. Say it isn't so!

GLEE

Every Wednesday at 8:00 I find myself running to the T.V. and watching one of my new favorite shows, Glee! It's so cool, it makes me want to get up and dance. If only there was a Glee Club at my school, I would rule that! haha. Anyways here are a couple videos of what it's like. If you like what you see then it's on Fox at 8:00 every Wednesday (central time). Enjoy! As for me.. I have way too much homework to even be on the computer right now, shhh! Don't tell anybody! hehe.

Quote for the Day 9-16-09

"Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams."

How to Dig a Tomato Garden

Hey everybody! I'm not a big person for receiving forwards on email but occassionally I come across a few that I really love! Hehe.. read this it's kind of funny and suprising. :)

How to dig a tomato garden
An old Italian man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig his tomato garden, but it was very hard work as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son in prison and described his predicament.

Dear Vincent,

I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me.

xoxo ,

Love Dad
A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Dad,
Don't dig up that garden. That's where I buried the bodies.
Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Dad,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances. Love Vinnie.....

Weeds and Wild Things

I was looking through Etsy once again and saw this really cool shop! Christina of weedsandwildthings always has amazing little items in her shop. One of my favorite things about her store has to be her minature hand-crafted villages! But there are so many other interesting things to be found there! She's very talented! Be sure to stop by and check out her store and her blog. You won't be disappointed!
PS: She's also is going to be having a grand reopening of her other store (TheOakLeaves) on September 15th! So have a look at that as well!

Food Nightmares!

This weekend has been kind of crazy. Last night I went to my favorite Mexican Food restaurant, which I have been going to since I was a little girl. They have the best Mexican food that I've had so far, and am always comparing other restaurants to them! Anyways! Sooo last night, I decided on two Carne Guisada tacos and a side of rice...delicious... I was feeling kind of funky when I got home but kind of ignored it and went to sleep.
Then at 4:00 AM I woke up...I felt horrible... so I went to the bathroom and threw up all that wonderful food. It was a pretty bad case of food poisoning. And let's just say that the tacos tasted much better the first time around. Now I feel really sick and can't decide whether it was the food or if I'm actually just sick... I hope your weekend goes well. Hopefully it turns out better than mine!

Dynasty Song

This year I have to memorize all of the ancient Chinese dynasties. And what better way to do it than in song?! It's sung to the tune of Frère Jacques.
Shang, Zhou, Qin, Han
Shang, Zhou, Qin, Han
Sui, Tang, Song
Sui, Tang, Song
Yaun, Ming, Qing, Republic
Yaun, Ming, Qing, Republic
Mao
Zedong, Deng
Mao Zedong, Deng

Cool huh? Anything you've ever had to memorize in song? It always sticks with me longer when it's in song. :)

Food Network Nut

I'm not going to lie.. I have a thing for the Food Network. Well it's more like a thing for cooking and watching people cook. :) The real part that I enjoy about the Food Network has to be their cake shows and challenges. Today I watched two different challenges...they're always so interesting and their skills and creativity with cakes astounds me. How can someone finish such master pieces in just 9 hours? It's a question that still baffles me.
PS: The pictures were of some cool cakes that I saw on the Dr. Seuss cake challenge!

Wishing Day

I've read a couple of blogs that have Wishing Lists for today because it's 09/09/09. So I just had to make one of my own!
I wish to find something that I truly love doing and pursue it, I wish that my family is forever happy, I wish to enjoy life without being afraid of change, I wish for someone to make me Melt Aways (hint hint Callie! hehe), I wish to see good in everything I do, I wish for a marvelous future in a career that is right for me, I wish for my first debate competition to go well, I wish to have the days will not be as monotonous as they have been lately, I wish to explore a new place, I wish for a new friend, and I wish for your happiness too!

To see another wishing list look at Rhianne's blog! And to see where I found this lovely photo clip here, too. :)

Bubblegum Deliciousness

Ahh the joy of Baskin Robbins Pink Bubblegum Ice Cream...
sooo yummy..
I came home today and found some of this delicious ice cream in the freezer just for me!! It's a seasonal ice cream so I have to wait half a year to get some...darn.. still it's one of the best. However, it's not one of the greatest ice creams to eat in front of people you're trying to make a good impression on, because it usually involves either sucking on the ice cream and then spitting back the bubblegum and chewing it at the end (which sounds pretty disgusting haha) or pushing the bubblegum to the side and eating the ice cream first... a difficult task. :) My sister suggested trying chewing the bubble gum while eating the ice cream, but that ended in my teeth covered in a sticky goop. Lesson learned: push the bubblegum to the side and try your best to eat it. Still so delicious! And my favorite! :D
What's YOUR favorite ice cream?
