Where do you leave your mark?

Have you ever really thought about it?

As humans we go to the same places all the time: restaurants, book stores, shops, streets, etc. I know that I follow the same trend a lot.
For example,
if you stop by your local Borders in the Quarry you will see me sitting by the window outlooking an ice cream shop,
if you go to Jim's you'll see my family and I at the corner circle booth on the left,
or if you go to my high school you'll see me eating at the second table directly when you walk in.

Patterns are apart of my daily life, and patterns personally drive me crazy half the time like waking up at 7 every morning and hopping into the shower; making it feel like yesterday is happening all over again.

Sometimes I want to break free from all these themes and do something different! I want to travel, see things, meet people, and enjoy life in a different way. That seemed so much easier when we were still living in Germany...

Numero Uno

Wake up in the morning feeling like...going back to sleep...zzzzzz.

Goodness gracious it's 7 AM on a Sunday, I had five 6 hours of sleep.

I want to go crawl back into my bed.
But I can't.

Because I'm going driving with my dad,
attempting to prepare for my driver's test.
Something that was always important
but is now twice as important,
because...

I

GOT

A

JOB!

Uh huh, you heard me!

My very first job! Whooo!

So I'm going to need my license to drive out to Fiesta Texas this summer.

What is my job you ask?
Well my technical name is a 'body artist'.

I do face painting, henna, and glitter tattoos.

Do you think this will be a good thing? 'Cause I'm kinda freaking out... :O

Shenanigans

Know how I have spent many weekends this year? Yesterday in particular?

At a debate tournament.

'cause I'm cool like that. haha.

I actually am starting to feel like I'm more apart of the team...
yay!

It was a pretty fun day apart from almost
punching and/or cussing a girl out...
no worries I didn't actually do it,
because I'm better than all her shenanigans.

Don't you just love that word?

SHENANIGANS!

Once I got home I ate half a banana and then promptly left to attend prom.
I didn't dress all that nicely or anything because I was volunteering with one of my good guy friends.
We had a pretty good time in the beginning
before the whole crowd came.

Then it was just rushing to serve people drinks.

Okay day all in all.

What I really want to do right now is go to Barnes & Noble
and sit in my favorite corner by the window
in that big comfy chair
and finish reading,
The Sky is Everywhere.

Want to accompany me? :)

The Night Life

As many of you probably know,
(because you read my sister's rad post)
I went to see Camera Obscura last night!!

I know you're jealous...it's okay it'll pass.
hahaha.

At the door the man asked if I was 21 years old?
No.
So what do you they do?
Stamp an extremely inky X all over both of my hands.

Here's a photo for proof:

Here's what the place looked like...

I had a lot of fun with my sisters and friend...
I'm really likin' Austin.
I want to go back and watch another concert at Emo's. :)

And then today I was inducted into the
National French Honor Society!
WOOOOOOOO!!

This is what I wore...
Yes the X's were still visible even after excessive scrubbing. hehe.
I can't believe my amazing mother surprised me by taking
me shopping this morning for that dress.
I like it a lot.

For desert after the ceremony I had some
yummy strawberry pound cake...uhm, uhm, goood...

What'd you do this weekend?
Do tell.

What does "beautiful" mean to YOU?

define: beauty
--the quality present in a person that gives intense pleasure to the mind.

FACT: 92% of women want to change something about their appearances.

If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions.

FACT:
-The average woman weighs 144 lbs. and wears between a 12-14.
-In one U.S. National survey, women feared being fat more than dying.

-50% of 10 th grade and 12 th grade boys want a more muscular upper body.

-It is estimated that 40-50% of American women are trying to lose weight at any point in time.

-There are 3 billion women who don’t look like super-models and only 8 who do.

I found this quote on the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty...

"Beauty is in your smile, beauty is in how you throw a ball, beauty is how the sun reflects off your hair, beauty is in your intelligence, beauty is in how you give a hug to someone who needs it, beauty is in how you laugh and brighten up a room, beauty is in your self-confidence. Isn’t it time for all girls to see their own beauty?"

That quote just kind of brightened my day. :)

Accept your body for the way it is.

You are beautiful the way you are...

Joyeux Anniversaire Ono!

{Me the ladybug, Kaitlyn as Pocahontas, and Callie the ballerina}

Dearest Kaitlyn aka Ono aka My Baloney...
You are an amazing sister and I'm glad that you
have been in my life these sixteen long years.
You are a dear and I love you!

I hope you enjoy your birthday big sis
because you are a "punk rocker with flowers in your hair"
and you deserve the bestest!

I also can't wait to go see Camera Obscura with you
and Beanie.

HAVE AN AMAZING BIRTHDAY KAITLYN!!!

Here's my favorite b-day song heheheheh. I think you'll agree...

Lots of sisterly love,

Jessica Leigh La Lou
