Greek is Back!

It's back, it's back, it's back, it's back, it's back, it's back, it's back!

The T.V. show Greek is back! YAY! It's such a cool show!! And this season feels like it's even more twisted than last season. Is that possible? haha. Anyways, you can watch it on ABC Family at 8:00 (central time) if you are interested. Enjoy! It's really great. :)
PS: Any T.V. shows YOU have been liking lately?

Quote for the Day

"Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny--he has something to fulfill, some message has to be delivered, some work has to be completed. You are not here accidentally--you are here meaningfully. There is a purpose behind you. The whole intends to do something through you."

Songs that Give Me Goosebumps

I get goosebumps every time I listen to these songs-they're so powerful. I haven't seen Les Miserables yet. I imagine it will be very sad... this is I Dreamed a Dream.

I've seen CATS the musical twice, both times were wonderful. Memory is my favorite song in the whole play.

I've also seen Wicked! once. It was a wonderful play. Is there any musical that you enjoy seeing?

Somebody to Love

I saw Ella Enchanted again this weekend! I like this movie, especially Anne Hathaway (Ella) and Hugh Dancy (Char). They really make the movie... I just don't like how different it is from the book. In the book Ella only responded to direct orders, but in the movie, anytime someone said "dance" or "sing" she had to do it. There was something kind of magical about the book. It's really amazing for any age! I've always loved it. The author is Gail Carson Levine in case you want to look it up!

Here's one of the best parts of the movie, when Ella sings Somebody to Love by Queen!

I Heart Bonnie Tyler

If there's an artist that I'm really into right now it has to be Bonnie Tyler and her song Holding Out For a Hero! I love 80s music and it's a really great song to sing along to. I posted this YouTube video so you could hear the song but not necessarily watch the video.. it's a little strange... :) Don't say I didn't warn you!

If you want to hear another great song, then listen to Total Eclipse of the Heart!

Julie & Julia Inspirations

I saw Julie & Julia today! It was very cute. I love how movies circled around cooking always inspire me to bake. So in honor of Julie & Julia, I made crêpes! The recipe is as follows:
(From the Joy of Cooking Dessert Book by: Irma S. Rombauer & Marion Rombauer Becker)

French Pancakes or Crêpes
Sift: 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Resift with: 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Beat: 2 eggs
Add and beat:
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla or 1/2 t grated lemon rind
*Heat your crêpe pan and add about 1/2 cup of batter; making a circular motion to spread the batter evenly. Cook until slightly brown on one side and on the other has brown speckles. ENJOY!*

Summer Went by Way Too Fast!

Geez! My official last day of summer is this Sunday and then school starts Monday. I wasn't expecting it to come so fast! Summer's what? 2 1/2 months? I guess I just took it for granted. There was a bunch more stuff I wanted to do... but I suppose it wasn't that bad of a vacation. I did get some stuff done.. I probably shouldn't have procrastinated as much on my homework. But no worries! I'm alllmoooosttt done. My assignment was to cover a journal with pictures related to the book and then find 10 interesting passages in the book and analyze them. I already covered the journal and did 8/10 of the entries. I'll be done TONIGHT! Well maybe... hehe.

PS: This is the journal I had to cover. The book I had to read was an American Childhood by Annie Dillard. (It wasn't one of my favorite books. I love her writing style but it was basically an autobiography. If you like autobiographies then give it a try!)

Forever 21 Treasures

Forever 21 always has such cool stuff. Those were some of my favs of this week! If only I had more spending money... I would go crazy in that store. :)

Pretty Great Style

I need to work on work on my style a little bit, I want the way I dress this year to really stand out. And to get me in more of that mood, I present to you, the stylistas that are inspiring me at the moment!
Zooey Deschanel has such a cute style and is a great actress. I love her in Yes Man and Failure to Launch, both so funny!
I love the way Scarlett Johannson dresses in He's Just Not That Into You. So pretty..

Katy Perry's style is so unique! I LOVE the way she dresses.

Drew Barrymore, she dresses so effortlessly and still looks great. I know I love the way she dresses in Music and Lyrics. Very cute!
Anybody in particular that is inspiring the way you dress at the moment?

Mr.Darcy, Mr. Darcy, Mr. Darcy

The movie Pride and Prejudice is such a treat! It was on last night and I watched it again, for about the 100th time. It never gets old, you should ask my sisters, I've begged them to watch it with me again and again. The actors in this movie are so good, they all play the part so well, especially Kiera Knightley (Elizabeth Bennet) and Matthew Fadyen (Mr. Darcy). I'm thinking about reading the book... my sister tells me it's just like the movie (2005 movie). I also can't get enough of Sense and Sensibility the movie.. but that's another post. hehe. :)

Tiffany Battel of Pumpkinpye517 on Etsy has such cute stuff! I really love her polymer clay creations, especially her toast. :) She makes such a wide variety of things, you are sure to find something you like in her shop. Stop by and check her out!

EXPELLIARMUS!

I really enjoy going to the movie theater.. the whole experience is great! There's the popcorn, a great movie (well hopefully), and friends to share it with. One movie that I've really liked this summer is, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It was really good, kind of sad, but still good. I love the books and the movies. I try not to compare the two, or else there's that whole, "that wasn't in the book!" thing. If you haven't read them, I highly suggest it! Once you start you're hooked, scouts honor.

My favorite Harry Potter character has to be Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint). He's so funny!

Things that Make Me Happy

I recently read a post on August One's blog that inspired me to share the things that make me happy!

SNOW!
My kitty, Leonardo

getting new shoes

doing silly things with my sister

and of course my family makes me happy, too :)

There's more stuff.. but these are the ones of the moment. What about you? What makes YOU happy?

Days Like These

On days like these, I feel like paying homage to the brilliant comics of Bill Waterson who created, Calvin and Hobbes. Here's some of my favs... (click to see them much BIGGER!)

Fort Worth Trip

We went on a trip to Fort Worth for the last 3 days. It was fun! Fort Worth is supposed to be one of the museum capitals of the South West... so we took advantage of that idea and saw soooo many museums that my feet were aching by the end of each day. I have a rule of thumb for museums: if the gift shops good, so is the museum. This philosophy hasn't failed yet, I hope it never will!! Here's some of my favorite pics from the trip...

Some very pretty birds at the Fort Woth Zoo

Angels on a building.. what's not to love? :)

Not sure what City Streets is.. but I thought it looked cool from the outside..

This buildings made entirely from granite. (Wow). I suggested that we chip off some and take it home for our counter tops.. haha.
