Leonardo Meowing

Meet Leonardo

Isn't his meow just adorable!?

My sister Kaitlyn provided the footage :)

My Little Agenda

This is my agenda which I record all this year's information... homework, meetings, movie dates, show times- pretty much anything you can think of! And I also doodle.. probably way too much but here is one of my "amazing" drawings (underneath the agenda):

And this is some of those magnificent doodles which I tried selling by tacking them up on our bulletin board. Needless to say I didn't make much profit. haha. :)

PS: I collaged the cover of my agenda because I didn't like the way it looked! Do you like the way it turned out?

Shopping and Youtube

So here's some of the interesting stuff of the day:
I went shopping with my sister Kaitlyn today! YAAAAYY!!! I bought this and this

And if money permitted would have also bought this and this....
I also got two shirts from Zara but I don't feel like taking pictures of stuff right now... haha. Sorry bout that! Anyways then we went to Godiva and debated over whether we should get chocolate covered strawberries or hot chocolate. The choices the choices. :D We ended up going with the hot chocolate but the strawberries are still my favorite.

After that we came home and I found this really hilarious guy on youtube! His name is Mitchell Davis, and he makes really random, funny videos. For example:

That's pretty much my day in a whole so far! Have a great day/weekend!
PS: All the photos are from Forever 21 items. :)

Just Another Quote for the Day

"Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the ones who treat you right. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

FAME!

I finally got to see Fame in the movie theaters! Wow! It was amazing... very inspiring and realistic. If you haven't seen it, I would most recommend it! Here are some songs from the movie...

Are you sure this was live? She has an amazing voice.. :)

New & old things I want to see by the end of the month....

Sweaty School Spirit

Hi everybody! A few days ago I stayed after school until about 7:30. This has to be the latest I've stayed in a loooonnnnggg time... but it was well worth it! Well most of the time anyways... What happened was a bunch of clubs and organizations from my school marched around the neighborhood surrounding the school. It was really fun in the beginning because I got to spend lots of time with my friends, but after we went outside and lined up- it started getting hot. It wasn't sunny mind you! Nope-it was the typical Texas humid weather. And by the end everybody was covered with sweat and my hair was extremely frizzy. Haha. Not a pretty picture! But I did get to take lots of pictures and spend time with a couple of good friends. The three photos below are from this interesting event.

I hope everybody has a great weekend! Any fun plans?

Fahrenheit 451

"Wherever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings." ~Heinrich Heine, Almansor, 1823
I saw my school's production of Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradsbury. Oh my gosh! It was an awesome performance. I loved all the extra special effects...in short I was very impressed. I also read the play in my English class and we had to do an assignment about different books that have been banned at one point in time. I was shocked at some of the different books!
  • The Great Gatsby
  • The Grapes of Wrath
  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • The Color Purple
  • The Lord of the Flies
  • Gone With the Wind

And so many others! It was a real eye opener reading this play. I feel that books have something to teach us, whether we agree or disagree with it is our choice. But the knowledge and free thinking ideas we achieve from reading is the best thing about it! It truly hurts when I see people burning books... it's destroying someone's thoughts and ideas. Spread the awareness during Banned Books Week! (let's just pretend like it wasn't a few weeks ago..haha. whoops!)

Paris Memories & Sea World

Today on my day off for Columbus Day (yippee!), I found myself thinking of all my little trips to France... Paris in particular. So I went through all my photo folders and found some of my favorite photos from Paris!

Besides searching through photo albums, I spent the day with a few friends at Sea World. We rode all the rides and saw many of the shows, including Shamu and Viva! It was a pretty great day but after eating a lot of junk food, I came home with quite a headache.
When I got home, I found myself with a pile of homework and chores. I completed most of my homework (due tomorrow at least) but still have to right a really long debate speech...yeesh. I also missed my show, Greek! Arr...
There's too much stuff to do! And I have to stay after for club meetings and practice everyday this week! I need a vacation.. I'm thinking Hawaii? Or Greece? Any suggestions?

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

As many of you probably know The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is coming out on October 16th! I've watched the trailer once or twice and am interested enough to fill in the pieces by going and seeing it at the movie theater. The real treat is that Heath Ledger is in the film, but unfortunately was unable to finish it, and Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law were used throughout the end instead.
It really does make me sad... I remember when I first found out that he had passed away. I was riding in the car one morning with my mom and we were listening to the radio. All of a sudden my mom yanked the volume control up and we listened intently. Then we heard what had happened. It really hit me... I felt like crying. I have always loved all his films and was utterly shocked to hear he had passed.
Rest in peace Heath. You were a truly magnificent actor.

Honest Scrap Award

I was reading through the lovely Red Boots blog when I saw she tagged anyone who read her blog! So since she didn't technically specify... I decided to join in the fun!

So here it goes, I have to share ten honest things about myself:

My name is Jessica. I go by JessicaLeighLaLou on the blog because it's a nickname my mom gave me when I was a little girl. I have countless other nicknames including: Guadalupe, Lilly, Lovie, Frenchie, and so many more!! My dad is responsible for the majority of them. :)

I only eat carrots with Ranch dressing...I think they taste strange without it.

When I get bored on the computer or in computer classes especially, I hold down the mouse and highlight stuff randomly. I drives the people next to me crazy because I'm constantly clicking. hehe.

I live in south Texas but I have no accent, hardly ever say "y'all", and the only time I ever sort of dress Western is when I go to the Rodeo once a year.

When my dad used to drive me home from school, I always used to request "Harper Valley PTA" by Jeannie C. Riley. I know all the words!

I write my S's backwards... starting from the bottom and circling upwards.

When I go running I usually try conjugating French verbs in my head.

I've traveled all over Europe and wish I could go back so badly! I've also lived in Germany for 7 1/2 years in Stuttgart and Kaiserslautern-both wonderful places to live.

I get goosebumps everytime I watch that part in Mulan when she climbs up the wooden poll and "We Are Men" is playing in the background! goosebumps

I love everything about blogging: the posting, the comments, the followers, etc. It makes me feel like I'm standing out slightly from the rest of the 304,059,724 Americans.

Tag you are it! (themagicalbean, little miss tiara, biscuit, Sylvita, A New Simple Something!, and of course YOU!)

Terra Cotta Warriors

Hello my fellow bloggers! This weekend I went on a trip to Houston, Texas to go see some of the Terra-Cotta warriors on tour from China! How cool is that?! First we went to a place called the Forbidden Gardens which had replicas of the the soldiers and tons of information on them. Here are some photos of that...

Then after that we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and saw the actual Terra-Cotta warriors and some other artifacts from China. I wish I could show you photos from that as well but they weren't allowing people to take photos within the exhibit. It was so cool and I had such a blast!

PS: Don't forget to watch the video about the warriors and if you want to learn more about them then click here!

Are there any fun trips you've taken recently?
