Crafty Goodness Swap Gift Received!

Soooo guess who got her package in the mail from the Crafty Goodness Swap?

Yeah that be me!
I'm seriously
still excited.
First off I'd like to thank Jill so much for
sending me my gift, because
I never got the gift from my original partner and
she stepped in and sent me an "angel" gift.

That was so kind of you! Thank you again. :}

After reading a very sweet card (^see above^) I opened the package
and the first thing that I grabbed was this journal which was
specially decorated by Jill herself, in a fashion called "Zen-Doodling".
Front
Back

neat eh? Gets better...hehe

She also made this adorable bookmark which was
also decorated by herself. It's so cute, it's currently
in my copy of Pride and Prejudice which I'm trying to read
over the Christmas break.

Also decorated in the same theme was a cup
which is now on my shelf holding some of my pencils. :D
Very handy.

The next thing which has to be by far the most elaborate
and one of my favorite items in the package...was an...
*DRUMROLL*

UMBRELLA!

I risked 7 years bad luck by opening it up in my house
and taking a few pictures with it.
But it was so cool I couldn't resist!
She used so much detail...

All the detail and time that she put into
my swap gift was so incredible.
Thank you so much again Jill!
You're an angel for doing my "angel" package.
MERCI!

They Say It's Your Birthday

So recently (Nov. 3) I had my birthday...
I've spent seventeen years on Earth so far.
It's been a pretty good run. haha.
It was actually quite a birthday.
I had two friends bring me cupcakes, and one bring me chocolate and a card.
Which is really awesome because I've never had that happen to me before!
Also when I got home my family members gave me a lot
of lovely gifts such as the quilt that my mother made me

isn't it beautiful?
I'm very thankful for such a great birthday!
And thank you to
who wished me happy birthday on my last blog post
that was very sweet of you! :}
Well now I'm going to go work on the rest of my costume
for the Harry Potter premiere... I'm going as Luna Lovegood.

L'Automne

Summer has gone away...and has been replaced with FALL!
yay!

You have no idea how much I've been longing for this after that heated Texas summers.

Now I can wear -cardigans
-sweaters
-pants
-LOOONG socks
-leg warmers
-closed toed shoes
-dresses with long sleeves
-knitted hats

oh thank goodness. :)

what's your favorite part of fall?
the changing of the leaves?
the clothes?
the chilly weather?

I couldn't choose so here's some photos I found representing some of the best parts...

HAPPY FALL you guys!
Winter's just around the corner...

Oh and here's a song that I really enjoyed on Glee,
I'd heard the original by Barbara Streisand and Judy Garland
but I think Kurt and Rachel did an amazing job as well.
Enjoy:

Actually My Name's Marina

Have you ever felt like an artist was entirely yours?
That you want to share their music with the ENTIRE world,
but at the same time you still want them to be only known to you.
Does that make any sense at all?
Well that's exactly how I feel about Marina & the Diamonds.
^^She was my fellow companion,
when I was driving to work this summer with my sister.
We would blast her music as we drove down the highway,
and sing along in loud bizarre voices.
I simply adore her music.
We have history...those days with simply her music are treasured.
But I think I'm finally ready to completely share her with Blogger Land.
This is a big step for me...enjoy:

(I Am Not A Robot is the one that started it all,
my sister, Kaitlyn ,introduced it to me. :})

The Thoughts Circling Around in My Mind

DISCLAIMER: There is a lot of excessive randomness in this post.
Beware...
My sister Callie has this seriously cool Polaroid camera.
I bought some film and have been taking a few photos around the house.
Don't they come out really cool?
I think so. :)
Another awesome thing is that my swap partner
received the gift I made for her!
YAAAAAAY!
And she liked it, which is even better. haha.
She mentioned it in this post...go ahead, check it out ya know you wanna.
*makes smug look*
HEY YOU KNOW WHAT TODAY IS!?
My mom and dad's anniversary!!
Yeah a total of 24 years in.
That's pretty amazing... :}
I'm really happy for them.
I think this moment calls for a song:

Paramore: "The Only Exception"

And maybe a few RENT tunes...

Love you all lots!

Hopefully the blog posts will be more frequent now.
This is the first night I haven't had homework in weeks though
crazy huh?

Have a superb week...

Pretty Magnificent Trio of Fluffballs

The other night my brother , Michael, my sister, Callie, and my mom went on a walk with our dogs. They were gone quite a bit longer than usual and it was quite some time before I saw any of them. When I finally did see one of them it was Callie and she had rushed into the house in a frantic manner asking for a flash light. I grabbed it for her and we hopped into the car to a nearby forest/creek/overpass (whatever you'd like to call it hah). She explained that she had heard quite a few meows and that when they went over to investigate, they found some abandoned kittens. There was a box nearby so I'm assuming that's where they were dropped. We're not sure if there were more that just ran off or some that didn't make it but who really knows? Except the people that did it I guess.
So we tried for about an hour to try to lure them to us with no prevail.
The only thing I had to show for it was scratches up and down my legs and ant bites. Ehh.
The next morning when everybody left the house my mom went back down to the creek/foresty overpass and got all of them to come to her.
Pretty amazing thing she did eh?
So now they're living upstairs until we find them a home or until somebody admits that we might actually keep them. But that will mean we'll whole lot of kitties, multiple dogs, and a poop load of fish. Yes I did just say 'poop load'. hehehe. That's quite a lot to take care of.
So without further adieu... MORE KITTY PHOTOS!

Aren't they unfathomably CUTE!??!?

I hope you just nodded your head, 'cause I totally just did.
Oh yeah that just happened. hehe.

5...4...3...2...1

So I feel very accomplished!
Well more or less... haha.
I'm finally almost done with my summer assignment. It's taken me a little while, with a bit of procrastination *cough cough*, but I'm almost done. Unfortunately I can't find any similes or metaphors which is annoying me because I need to find at least ONE! Arghklsdfalxjlksaf; Hemingway annoys me sometimes with his blunt journalistic style and his stoicism... Anyways! I didn't do much "back to school" shopping this year, I only bought a couple new things that will hopefully last me a while. Here are the five things I've bought this summer that I'm most excited about:

1.
My new romper that I got at Urban Outfitters on sale. :)

2. My latest Henna that I did on my hand.
{I bought the Henna...and then did it at home to clarify. :)}

3.My brand spanking new GLASSES! OHH YEAH

4. Wallet + Purse {Target}

5.
And an Aladdin soup/food holder that keeps food nice and hot.

IT EVEN HAS A POP-OUT SPOON...oooh ahhh

So there you have it.
I'm pretty excited about all of that... it's nice being able to buy little things like that ya know? It helps when you're employed don'tchathink? hehee.

I hope you all are having a fabulous day!
Enjoy the last couple of days of summer...

Love--Jessica Leigh La Lou

PS: I recently found this Belgian girls choir on the net called-Scala & Kolacny Brothers.

Aren't they amazing? :D
