The Thoughts Circling Around in My Mind

DISCLAIMER: There is a lot of excessive randomness in this post.
Beware...
My sister Callie has this seriously cool Polaroid camera.
I bought some film and have been taking a few photos around the house.
Don't they come out really cool?
I think so. :)
Another awesome thing is that my swap partner
received the gift I made for her!
YAAAAAAY!
And she liked it, which is even better. haha.
She mentioned it in this post...go ahead, check it out ya know you wanna.
*makes smug look*
HEY YOU KNOW WHAT TODAY IS!?
My mom and dad's anniversary!!
Yeah a total of 24 years in.
That's pretty amazing... :}
I'm really happy for them.
I think this moment calls for a song:

Paramore: "The Only Exception"

And maybe a few RENT tunes...

Love you all lots!

Hopefully the blog posts will be more frequent now.
This is the first night I haven't had homework in weeks though
crazy huh?

Have a superb week...

Sun Is In The Sky, Oh Why Oh Why

Kaitlyn and I went to the mall today to do something I usually don't do...
buy SHORTS! And not just any shorts... American Eagle shorts.
I'm pretty much against the whole preppy clothes trend going on,
especially because I'm in the south and
everyone and their mother has side bangs
and Hollister tees. So whenever we shop we generally stray away
from American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Hollister.
So me buying these shorts is kind of a big deal
and they were on sale so yippeee! haha.

{Excuse the band-aid, I nicked myself while shaving. hehe.}

As you know, from a previous post, I've been reading
Harry Potter and A Farewell to Arms.
But since then I've bought/borrowed some new books:

1. And Then I Found Out the Truth--which is the sequel to And Then Everything Unraveled
that book is really good--I'd recommend it to anyone especially teens.
2. The Spark Notes Edition for A Farewell to Arms. HAHA. yeah that book is killing me.
3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Yes I did finish reading the first one whoohoo!
4. The Help- I haven't started it yet but my mom told me it was good.
5. A Farewell to Arms. Eyuck.

AND I BOUGHT A REGINA SPEKTOR CD!!!
OHEMGEE I'M IN LOOOOVE WITH IT!

Especially this song... among many others...

Have a fantastic day you guys! :D And be on the lookout for a blog anniversary post! :D

*Kaitlyn is credited with titling this post. hehe. And Callie is credited with taking photos of my shorts. :D*

Wishing I Had Somewhere Nice to Wear This

Sooooo...
I went shopping with Hey Baloney and I found this lovely dress:

Ain't it pretty? :)

I also bought a cute shirt as well but I'm lacking in photos for that. Rats.
It was a really amazing feeling being able to buy something without
freaking out about not having enough money.
Ahhh the joys of working! Stuff like this
makes up for the other crap I have to put up with sometimes ya know?

Oooh and this is my new henna tattoo!
It's supposed to be a rose surrounded by leaves...I'm not quite sure
if I mastered that. What do you think?

Anyways, lately I've been spending some of my time reading.
I have to read "A Farewell to Arms" for my summer reading assignment.
And I seriously hate it! Especially because I already know how it's going to
end which is a pretty typical Hemingway ending. Ugh.
Maybe I shouldn't have cheated and read the end
before finishing the rest huh? haha.
Yeah I'm kinda ashamed of that. I feel like I cheated.

The other book I've been spending my time reading is Harry Potter Numero Uno!
Even though I've already read all of them once before.

I really want to get through all of them again before I watch the newest one. :}

Hope you are all have a MARVELOUS day!

{This is my song of the moment. Isn't Kate Nash awesome?}

Harry Potter Love

Okay with all the craziness going around about Twilight
coming out and blah blah blah.
I just watched the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows trailer and it was AMAZING!
Is it wrong that I got goosebumps from watching it?
Yeah I hope not, because I did.
So while other people are out purchasing Eclipse tickets
I am counting the days until Harry Potter comes out.
*shivers* It's going to be amazing.
PS: Like the picture? Ain't it hee-larious? hahaha

1, 2, 3... Come Along With Me

In Jessica Leigh La Lou's world...
The Magical Bean helps her make butterscotch cookies when there's nothing else to do.

Then they take multiple pictures of their kitties doing funny things

like Sheila here cleaning her pink belly.

And when there is free time she goes to see Shrek Forever After
with her siblings, being the movie buff that she is.

Isn't describing my daily actions in third person fun?

Bahahaha.

I hope you are having a superb day.

All in a Day's Work

Bonjour!
It's been quite a week... I've been pretty busy almost everyday at work
trying to master face painting. I have so much more respect for people
who paint faces or anything else really. My swirls still suck but I will eventually figure them out! haha.

{I'm thinking I should buy TOMS when my first paycheck comes in what do you think?}

OH YEAH! One realllllllly cool thing that happened to me at work was
a man that could only speak French wanted a face painting
for his daughter! And guess who speaks French!?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Yeah, you guessed it: me.

I had actually just finished explaining to some girls
that kept telling me that I should have taken Spanish
because we live near Mexico and San Antonio is highly populated with Spanish speaking people;
I just told them that French always felt right to me.
And then voila! He appears with his daughter and totally proved my point.
It was such a good feeling,
I haven't been able to speak French with someone like that in like 3 years. :)

And guess what!? I got a Blog Award from Trishie!
Thank you so much for this wonderful award!
Giving it to me was so very sweet of you... :')
I'll be passing this along to:

As of right now I'm going to go finish Ever After and then

listen to some Glee tunes...

PS: Do you like the way my blog looks now?
The background color reminded me of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Sam, Dean, Kaitlyn, and I

I spent most of the day today with my sister, Kaitlyn,

watching Supernatural Season 1.

And I really love this show!

The bestestest part of watching it was

getting a chance to gaze up at their B-E-A-UTIFUL faces.

Day in a Nutshell

My day is as
follows...

Woke up left foot, right foot jiggidy jig.

In my French 4 class,
we're reading Le Petit Prince.

My French teacher is in awe at how St. Exupery
used grammar and defied a lot of the general French
rules on things, but sometimes I wonder
if he wasn't defying anything.
Maybe he just didn't understand
how to use grammar?

Hmmm...

In my debate class we enjoyed
watching the latest Modern Family episode!
I don't know if you've ever seen it...
BUT it's HILARIOUS!
Then we worked on a boring worksheet in Algebra
and I tried to understand and keep up as usual.
Then in English,
we watched a documentary about the
Scottsboro Trials.

Pretty awesome day eh?

I'm also proud to say that my sister and I
have been running for the last 2 weeks,
and have continued on with our fitness goals!
*APPLAUSE*

Thank you. Thank you.

As of right now,

I'm avoiding talking on the phone with a certain
someone because I would actually like to get at least 7 hrs.
of sleep tonight! :D

Good night, good afternoon, or good morning!
Wherever you may be.

Love, Jessica

What to do...what to do...what to do...

Shall I start with the good or the bad?
Hmmm... let's begin with the not so happy things.

Today I had my very first interview... a little scary. :/
It was at Fiesta Texas.
Nothing fancy or anything:
I believe I was going to be collecting tickets or something...
I didn't get the job- they said they weren't accepting
high schoolers until mid-May.
Sigh.
Kind of disappointing.
At least I tried doing something new ya know?

Then when after I gave my presentation in
English on To Kill a Mockingbird,
and handed in the project
I heard my teacher say,
"Did someone drop some mini-books?
They're all over the floor!".
He then proceeded to throw the tiny little books,
which I had slaved away on forever,
into my box and
threw it into the stack of other projects.

THAT PROJECT TOOK ME HOUUURRS!
Grrrrrrr.... I'm so MAD!

Plus it's the end of the nine weeks and
grades are due.
I'm stressing to make sure I do well.
*breathes in and out*
Whheeww...I feel better.

Kay, onto the good.
This morning I rode with my sissies and friend to school.
Which is really nice because usually I have to take the bus.

Then in French we're reading Le Petit Prince,
and I'm actually UNDERSTANDING it!
This calls for a VICTORY DANCE!
*shakes her groove thing*
I hope your week is going better than mine...
at least tomorrow I'm scheduled to have a hair appointment.

Wish me luck!
xoxo,
Jessica Leigh La Lou
PS: Here are some pictures we took whilst in England,
way back when!
Hope they bring you some cheer. :D

Plus this lovely song!
