It's Been Awhile

So it's a been a looooong time since I've reached out to the Blogger World. I've been busy, and posts always took up quite a bit of time to create, and I slacked for awhile. But I'm back again, and raring to go! :}

Guess what...I recently bought my very own Nikon camera:

Cool, right? Right.

My family is paying for Netflix now and with that I was able to watch Seasons 1-6 of the Office. Haha. My friend bought that bumper sticker above for me in New York because I have become such an avid fan.

I have begun doodling constantly in my classes. I try to use some of my teachers as prime models for my sketching, but generally they turn out looking a bit hmm...crazy? Especially in Physics class, my teacher has virtually no eyebrows, which makes him difficult to recreate.

I have a debate tournament coming up, so I must begin researching topics. I bought a Time Magazine, to keep me up to date on Libya/the national debt/elections, etc.

Anyways, I'm glad to be back... HELLO AGAIN INTERNET.

Back to School Blues

So school's fixing to start in about a week on the 23rd.
How depressing.
And I know that people older than me keep telling me to enjoy it...
pretty soon I'll be out of high school and onto college.
But what if you genuinely dislike high school?
I mean I have some friends that I have a good time with
but when it comes down to it... if they were such good friends
then how come I didn't get a call this summer to do something
How come I was calling all the shots?
Or if I did get a call or an email, they never followed through.

And the one major organization that I'm apart of-debate
kind of fell through because I haven't really made friends with any
of the other debaters.
So what am I supposed to do?
Take another year of it and hope that it works out?
Or should I take culinary arts? But that takes up two periods so
I wouldn't be able to take debate...
So now I must decide *dramatic music*
Wish me luck. :/

Renegade + Banquet

Last weekend was a lot of fun!
Callie, Kaitlyn, and my mom all went to the Renegade Craft Fair.
It was very cool, in a word.
There were so many different types of artists there,
with so much to offer.

One of the booths we actually got to stop by was
for Etsy!

Then we created these, "baby bunts".
Aren't they freakin' adorable?!

Later, after I made a few *cough cough* purchases
we walked around South Congress...

I actually ended up buying a mustache pin,
a graphic poster,
a shirt with toast on it,
and a few others, which are escaping my mind right now.
Callie is considering doing it next year
and I think that she would do awesome, don't you?

{this is what I wore to the Banquet}

Then last night I went to a Debate Banquet.
Which was er, okay.
The place was really nice and had good food,
and I got to spend time with my dad.
But there was a lot of favoritism happening in all the speeches,
gifts, and things...which was getting frustrating.
They even had a super long slide show of "fun times"
which I was only included in UNO picture!
Sigh.

But you know what!
As I lay in my bed and look up at our shaky fan,
I remember: there's only 12 more days of school,
so I smile.

Shenanigans

Know how I have spent many weekends this year? Yesterday in particular?

At a debate tournament.

'cause I'm cool like that. haha.

I actually am starting to feel like I'm more apart of the team...
yay!

It was a pretty fun day apart from almost
punching and/or cussing a girl out...
no worries I didn't actually do it,
because I'm better than all her shenanigans.

Don't you just love that word?

SHENANIGANS!

Once I got home I ate half a banana and then promptly left to attend prom.
I didn't dress all that nicely or anything because I was volunteering with one of my good guy friends.
We had a pretty good time in the beginning
before the whole crowd came.

Then it was just rushing to serve people drinks.

Okay day all in all.

What I really want to do right now is go to Barnes & Noble
and sit in my favorite corner by the window
in that big comfy chair
and finish reading,
The Sky is Everywhere.

Want to accompany me? :)

Debate Team and Baby Rose

This is what I wore to my very first
debate tournament:

Garsh, I kinda miss debating.
If there was every anything that was upsetting me,
then I would just fuel all that anger into my debates...
pretty cleansing. haha.

I really wish I was more apart of my debate team though...
They're like a little family-
they understand each other,
they have inside jokes,
know each person's pet peeves,
and can spend hours together.

I just can't seem to get in on that,
I really wish I could
because they're all so great together.
I just wish I was more apart of the team.

As of right now I'm considering fueling
all my anger at my brother
because he won't leave little Rose alone!
He keeps waving the laser around
and she starts chasing it and
is being even more physco than usual.
She keeps looking at the ceiling to see if the red laser dot
will show up...
grrrr... I'm going to kill him.
hehe not really.
I love baby Michael... most of the time. haha.

I'm off to see Valentine's Day
with my siblings in a couple hours
and I would love it if he'd come,
except without the laser?
Please and thank you Michael?

Lots of love,
Jessica

I AM WOMAN!

Sorry that I've been so out of blogging lately...
This entire week pretty much has been revolved around
DEBATE!
Yep. It was my last tournament of the season... I'm a little sad.
I actually enjoy going debating against people from schools all over Texas.
People think debate is boring.
And you know sometimes when you have to research
a topic so much, it does get a little of that.
But then again you get to learn about stuff you've hardly touched on in your regular classes. And when you get up to debate against your opponents. It is soooo empowering! You have no idea. I feel really strong, STRONG, I am invincible, INVINCIBLE,
I AM WOMAN!

haha no that last part didn't come from just anywhere...
it came from this song!

if any of you ladies are ever having a rough day, I usually end up reciting these lyrics in my head. It kinda helps! hehe.

Sorry 'bout not posting lately... I sorry...

You know I LOVE YOU!

xx, Jessica

Birthday Bowling

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I talked about what's been a happenin'! So here goes... Today I had a birthday party where we went out to eat and then went bowling. It was a lot of fun! I invited a couple of close friends and we ate and bowled our hearts out.
I am happy to say that I won both bowling games against my friends (not that it was a competition right right? ;). I'm just kidding! We weren't the best bowlers around.
Then later we also ate some delicious homemade cupcakes as you see above! Aren't they lovely? Thanks mommy for making them for me. Then tomorrow I have to work 7 hours at a debate tournament... I'm not too happy about that but I will support my team! Sigh.. but on a Saturday?
Well I hope you have a great weekend! Are you doing anything interesting?
